Benefits of lighting transformers 12v|More About outdoor lighting transformers 12v

If you want to know about the outdoor lighting transformers 12V you have landed at the right place. Read on to know more about it.

This 240v – 12v waterproof transformer is used with 12v Garden Lights. A 3 pin UK plug is integrated to 1m of 3 core rubber waterproof input cable resulting in easy installation with no mains voltage wiring. The 240v mains input then turns to 12v AC output via the transformer. The output cable is detachable and links to the transformer with a 2 pin plug, protected with a threaded cap. The output cable is then wired to the 12v fittings via a waterproof junction box. Alternatively, plug & play lights plug directly into the transformer when no output cable is in use.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

The output of this transformer is A/C, therefore may not be ideal for some 12v LED systems. Make sure the 12v LED lamps and fittings will work with this transformer.

DO NOT TOTALLY SUBMERGE IN WATER. If the input mains voltage cable becomes damaged, a rick of electrocution could occur.

The voltage you select depends on personal preference and the situation in which you provide lighting. Each of these two choices has its advantages and disadvantages.

12V

Advantages:

  • These lamps can emit more light than halogen at 230V. A 20W halogen lamp on 12V emits the same amount of light as a 50W lamp on 230V. A 45W halogen lamp on 12V emits three times more light than a 50W lamp on 230V.

  • The light bulbs have more life expectancy because they have less tension.

  • The lamps give slightly brighter (whiter) light, and they remain white as they go dim.

  • More possibilities in WAT and radiation bundles (20 to 35-50W).

  • Possibility of conversion to mood light with LED.

outdoor lighting transformers 12v uses a low voltage lighting transformer to convert the standard 120 volts (from your house) into 12 volts. This is what’s most commonly used for outdoor lighting.
