This article is all about the outdoor lighting transformers 12V. Read on to know more about it.
This 240v – 12v dc waterproof transformer can be used with 12v Garden Lights. A 3 pin UK plug is integrated to 1m of 3 core rubber waterproof input cable leading to an easy installation with no mains voltage wiring. The 240v mains input then converts to 12v AC output via the transformer. The output cable is detachable and connects to the transformer with a 2 pin plug and has a protection of a threaded cap. The output cable is then wired to the 12v fittings via a waterproof junction box. Alternatively, plug & play lights plug directly into the transformer when there is no output cable in use.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION
The output of this transformer acts as A/C, therefore it is not ideal for some 12v LED systems. Make sure the 12v LED lamps and fittings will function well with this transformer.
DO NOT TOTALLY SUBMERGE IN WATER. If the input mains voltage cable has been damaged, a risk of electrocution could happen.
The voltage selected depends on personal preference and the situation in which you provide lighting. Each of these two choices come with its advantages and disadvantages.

12V Advantages:
These lamps emit more light than halogen at 230V. A 20W halogen lamp on 12V emits the same amount of light as a 50W lamp on 230V. A 45W halogen lamp on 12V can emit three times more light than a 50W lamp on 230V.
The light bulbs come with more life expectancy because they have less tension.
The lamps emit slightly brighter (whiter) light, and they are white as they go dim.
More possibilities in WAT and radiation bundles (20 to 35-50W).
Possibility of conversion to mood light with LED.
12v dc transformer for led lights takes a low voltage lighting transformer in use to convert the standard 120 volts (from your house) into 12 volts. This is what’s most commonly utilised for outdoor lighting.
